Anaheim, CA – Another annual event that us Southern Californian gamers are blessed with – Blizzard Entertainment’s very own Blizzcon! For those of us that are fans of Blizzard’s small but powerful portfolio of games, (which is probably anyone that games at all), Blizzcon offers a great opportunity for fans to immerse themselves within the developer’s world. For those who don’t know, Blizzard is most well known for making the Warcraft series, and the phenomenon that was World of Warcraft, as well as Starcraft, Diablo, and most recently, Overwatch.
Much like other conventions, Blizzcon offers an inside look at future projects and updates for their games through interaction with developer panels and game demos. Painstakingly detailed art is displayed for those interested in seeing the visual design beyond the context of the games. Additionally, Blizzcon also functions to bring together a community of fans who show up in cosplay or to meet friends they may have made through playing their games online. With the current push into e-sports, Blizzcon also sets the stage for their games’ competitive finals, including Starcraft, Heroes of the Storm, WoW PvP, and Overwatch.
