February 27, 2016, Coalinga Municipal Airport, CA – There’s nothing like the visual and aural spectacle of seeing and hearing cars costing well into six figure dollar amounts blasting down a straight road. Shift-S3ctor had the right idea in creating “Airstrip Attack”, an event where cars can blast down a 1/2 mile stretch of clear runway at the Coalinga Municipal Airport and see how fast they are at the 1/2 mile mark. Today isn’t their first rodeo, but this particular event was special since this is the first time they ever held the event where the cars running had to have had at least an MSRP of $100,000 when the car was being sold brand new. Japanese marquee cars were the minority here, with only a couple of 2016 Nismo GTRs representing the land of the rising sun. The rest of the pack was composed of Euros; from Ferraris 458s, FFs, Porsche Turbos and GT3s, Lamborghini Huracans, to the daring like that one guy who brought a Bugatti Veyron. One standout from the pack of racers was Steven Aghakhani, the 12 year old driving a Mclaren 650s. Don’t hate on the kid, he actually has skill, and started out go kart racing before joining the big dogs of Shift-S3ctor.
