Baltimore, MD – The 19th annual anime convention Otakon kicked off on July 27th and ended July 29th. What used to be a small convention in State College, Pennsylvania, grew into one of the largest anime conventions in the US, with over 32,000 memberships this year. Some ask if Otakon got too big to be fun. We think not! The secret is to plan ahead and get in lines early to see the panels you plan on attending. It was also quite overwhelming at first to see so many people dressed up in cosplay, but after a few minutes of walking around you feel like you stepped into a fantasy world. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Otakon, which is scheduled for August 9-11th, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center. –Anthony Sae-Chua, Madlight Media
